OAKA Swimming facilities
This technical description concerns the dismantling and collection for recycling purposes of metal stands around the main pool of the swimming facilities of OAKA (Olympic Athletic Stadium of Athens) in Maroussi, Attica.
More specifically, there are 3 steel structures of different dimensions which are arranged on the 3 sides of the main pool.
It is preceded by the outage of all Public Utility Networks (in this case electricity) that is connected with the stands due to the light panels and the electronic boards mounted on it. Then with the help of the crane the light panels and the electronic boards are removed and deposited in a specified area.
The task will be executed by authorized & experienced personnel with the use of appropriate equipment (oxyacetylene devices, etc.) which will cut the construction in width and at the required points so as to create independent parts.
Each piece after its cutting will be suspended with suitable straps from a crane with a capacity of 350 TN + which will be parked in the space that has been defined before. Notably, the railings and seats remain on the independent part, providing stability and safety during transport.
After its suspension, the piece will be deposited on the ground and specifically in the square behind the stand. There, the railings and the seats will be dismantled first and then the particle board floors, leaving the mainly metal construction “naked”.
Then an excavator with attached special hydraulic “scissors” will undertake to cut the main metal structure into smaller pieces which are taken to legal recipients for recycling.Project
