From Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 12:00 until Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 12:00, Spyros remained in the indoor pool 50m. of the Olympic Stadium “Spyros Louis” (Ο.Α.Κ.Α.), and swam 358.2 km, the longest distance ever recorded, his effort lasted 168 hours.
Spyros Chrysikopoulos remained in the pool for 7 whole days swimming day and night, covering as many kilometers as possible. He rested by the pool and refueled mainly while in the water.
No other athlete in the world dared to attempt such a thing and the anxiety for the Greek athlete was great.
