Earthworks & demolition works of 40 buildings in an area of 820 acres for the construction of a photovoltaic park with a power of 38MW

Demolition with controlled use of explosives, water tower 25m high

On a plot with a total area of ​​820,000 square meters (m2) 4 photovoltaic stations are to be built with a total capacity of 38 MWp. Demcon’s tasks initially included the collection, disposal, packaging and final disposal of packaged materials, which proved to be over 600 tones. Immediately after, the demolition works were carried out together with the earthworks and the supply of material. More than 40 buildings had to be demolished conventionally and in some cases the use of explosives for controlled demolition was required. It is worth noting that the type of explosives used had faster results compared to conventional ones and at the same time there was no wave of explosions. More than 40 site vehicles (construction machinery) were used and the manpower reached 60 people who worked for 6 consecutive months. A total of 80,000 cubic meters (m3) of concrete were demolished and recycled, while at the same time more than 150,000 cubic meters (m3) of earthworks were carried out, which included excavation, transportation and leveling of material. Also, an extensive network of roads and canals was excavated and excavated.
